Friends in Cape Cod: our documentary will air tomorrow (Sunday, March 10)  just after 7 p.m. on the community radio station WOMR 92.1 FM in Provincetown, which has a second transmitter at WFMR 91.3 FM in Orleans. In New Orleans, Zydeco Nation meets The Kitchen Sink

One of our favorite radio stations, WWOZ 90.7 FM in New Orleans, will broadcast Zydeco Nation tomorrow, March 27, at 10 p.m. Central Time. The documentary will air on David Kunian's show The Kitchen Sink. Having Kunian host our program is a special treat. Roots of Zydeco

Many people who have listened to Zydeco Nation have expressed interest in learning more about the deep roots of zydeco. Giving it back to kids

At the 23 Club last week, we met two enthusiastic representatives of the Performing Stars of Marin, a Bay Area organization dedicated to providing "professional training in dance, music, social skills and various enrichment opportunities to children who are underserved due to economic, cultural or social barriers." Although Marin County, north of San Francisco, has a reputation for wealth and groovitude, in its midst is Marin City, a community built for shipyard workers, which today remains tight-knit even as it struggles with poverty and crime....
